Dave and I met in 4th grade on the playground at Byrom Elementary playing the floor is lava or tag. Ever since then, we've been best of friends. A former musical theater performer and singer, Dave is a phenomenal storyteller, and Game Manager in D&D, he has entertained us for hours as we campaigned through the mines infested with the Cult of Orcus. He also makes some of the best salmon you'll ever try in your life.

Hailing from Sierra Leone, David Kamara loves sports, racing, lively debates, and good whiskey. He once detoured a trip down south to head over to one of his favorite distilleries in Kentucky. If you ever want to find a bottle of Pappy van Winkle, David's your man!

Dr. Dan "the man" Sufficool is a multi-talented dude. First an foremost, he is a sought-after radiation oncologist in Alabama, recently featured on the news for the great work his practice does there. Also, he is one of the most well-informed tech guys I know. He was on Bitcoin back in 2011, and constantly reminds me how much better Android and windows are than Macintosh. He's right on only one of those, as I'm an iPhone stan.

Mustapha, or Stafi, is truly one of the most caring people you will ever meet. We met through his girlfriend Travell and then bonded through soccer, beach trips, and cooking. Stafi is by far the best chef I know. He's too modest to agree, but he should have his own Ghanaian restaurant!

Jessica and I met the first week of college at New York University at the welcome week ice cream social, and we’ve been besties ever since. Jessica is an accomplished writer, an art critic, sweet tea lover and most likely the icon they will get, to present me with my Oscar!

Big sister Pretty One Omega Psi Phi (I will never say this is real life!) is the one who taught me about boys and how to walk in heels! Designer clothes, mocktails, and caring for those with special needs, are how you get her attention. She’s an OG board game and cartoon fan; think Justice League and Flintstones. Play her in Connect Four, but don’t play with her about her sisters!

My original and true best friend. Quanita is my tag team partner, my roast master, and my Irish twin (we are a year apart!). She loves fashion, good food, and having her way! She was the first person to help me dream up my wedding day decades ago, and she’ll be around for many more firsts. If you’re smart, she’s the metro driver you better be nice to.

My most determined and focused friend. While everyone else was worried about survival during the pandemic, she decided to go back to school, have a baby, and get a second degree in the same amount of time! If you catch her quiet in a corner, it's because she’s winning at life and doesn’t have time for your drama, or no one has put on Pleasure P or Pretty Rickey! Don’t let her demure smile fool you; she’s plotting!

We met freshman year through Jessica and had an instant Virgo connection. Over a decade later, several girls trips and a few house parties she’s still the only one who may out dance me! Claricia was the first person to introduce me to Afrobeats. She loves pretty things, being about her business, and a good brunch spot.
